Itinerary description
Starting from the Gantry car park just passed Mount Mee is Somerset trail. This trail encompasses within it's small area of a variety of different terrains. From hoop pine plantation to wattle forest and grass tree eucalypt country this trail has it all. The lookout across Lake Somerset and south towards Lake Wivenhoe are very special.
A great walk to do any time of the year but especially in spring. The blooming of the wattle provides the hiker with an abundance of flower that surrounds the walker entirely as you progress from the lookout back to the car park.

Awesome hike with great views!!!
Great trail, interesting eucalypt ecosystems and plenty of flowers already when we went late July 2022. Fantastic views from the lookouts, but note that they are near a popular four wheel drive trail and there could be a few groups around on a weekend. The hiking trail follows the edge of the range for a bit here so don't settle for the first vantage point you see - you are likely to find a nicer and more private spot if you continue on for a bit :)
