Mount Fuji (Fuji-san) with its 3776m high is the highest mountain in Japan. It is an active volcano with little risk of eruption (last eruption dates from the year 1707). This mountain is sacred and venerated by the Japanese and Buddhism. This has led to an avalanche of pilgrimage by the Japanese, as if it were Mecca, where at least once in life they have to go up, yes or no, to their peak.
Recently Unesco Heritage has been declared since 2013 as a "cultural" heritage that is not "Natural", since Mount Fuji has inspired artists and poets for centuries to be the subject of pilgrimage from ancestral years.
Located about 100km south-west of Tokyo, it is well connected by bus. Its official opening of ascent is from 1 July to 7-10 September according to the year. Within this period a large number of establishments are open throughout the entire route to the top in order to rest, sleep and take some warmth to comfort yourself. That yes, at no economic prices.
The summit has no alpinistic interest since the Japanese have turned it into a well-defined "circuit" with a multitude of establishments along the entire route and with no possibility to get out of the established path. Now, the beauty of its sunrise is absolutely incomparable with whatever else you have seen. That yes, avoid getting on the weekend or the central weeks of August, because if you do not know that it is the agglomeration in a summit ... you will discover it!

Salut i Cames!!
