Mammoth Lakes is a transit point between the Las Vegas - Yosemite journey. This is where travelers decide to spend the night being half an hour from the entrance to Yosemite by the Tioga Pass. This place has many attractions, not only its proximity to the national park.
It is an alpine town in the state of California, in Mono County (it is also very close to the Mono Lake), and it is located at 2400 m. It is located on the edge of the Long Valley caldera, so the whole area around the town has great geological activity, with hot springs, in addition to numerous lakes, fountains and hectares of forest. In the west of the village is the Mammoth mountain, while in the south you can see the Sherwin Range. The area is immersed in the American Sierra Nevada, making it an ideal place for winter sports, hosting several popular ski resorts.
