Itinerary description
A very strenuous climb with amazing payoff views at the top of the tallest volcano on the lake. The last hour the trail was mainly rough and slippery volcanic rock but from the top you will have a panoramic look at the lake and, on a clear day, as many as 11 more volcanoes, including Fuego puffing away in the distance.
I forgot to start recording until 15 minutes in so you should add about a kilometre and 200 metres of elevation gain to these numbers. Also, dress warm if you want to hang out at the top, and I would recommend taking a guide as there have been occasional robberies in the past.
For a full guide and description of this hike, see Climbing Volcan Atitlan Guatemala on Routinely Nomadic.

Si es un ascenso muy fuerte y dificil, hay que estar bien prerparado, la ruta de regreso se siente eterna. Saludos
