Itinerary description
It's marvelous hiking trail from Devil's bridge (Սատանի կամուրջ ) to 17th century Tatevi anapat ( Տաթևի անապատ ) monastery ruins, then to Tatev monastery complex ( Տաթևի վանք ) .
This trail is situated in the most sublime and mountainous province of Armenia - in Syunik.
Some information about the trail:
--- The main part of the trail coincides with the Tatevner aerial tramway way, so you'll see the tramway above you during the hike.
--- The trail goes through forest, but the last part of the trail passes through the road that leads to Tatev monastery (15 minutes walk).
--- The best season for this trail is from the end of April till the middle of June, as summer is too hot here.
Here we also have another trail that leads from the monastery visit point to Devil’s bridge, which is a part of TransCaucasian Trail, blazed and easier for a hike than this one.
