Trail photos
The trail enters a different part of the Eastern Townships. The mountains give way to hills and the forest gives way to agriculture. No spectacular scenery, but the trail offers nuanced and subtle charms to those who know how to discover them.
The trail climbs first on the cliff La Rouche from where you can admire for the last time the mountains of the southern zones. Then it follows the glacial valley of Gulf Creek and the Salmon River. It finally arrives at the picturesque village of Kingsbury whose former slate quarry has marked the economic life of yesteryear and the roofs of many Victorian-style homes in Richmond. The dam formerly built on the Salmon River has created an enchanting marsh, populated by birds that will delight ornithologists.
