Itinerary description
Unbelievable round tour in Telgelberg and “Disney” Castle.
Very beautiful trail, with views to Schwangau castle (Disney castle was inspired by this super beautiful castle). The trail is very hard, with a lot of high meters, walking through small paths in the top of the mountain.
We parked next to the castle, and in less than 20min, we were at the castle. In another 20min, we were in Mariabrucke. Until then, everything was very accesible walking in roads. In Mariabrücke was under construction, but we avoided the bridge by walking down to the river and going up using a very steep and narrow trail. It was very hard. But worth it. The first picture is from the panoramic view point, after going up.
Next hours and kilometres are going up the hole time. We had very nice views, to the castle, the valley and the Alps. Once in Tegelberghaus (1707m) we stopped to have lunch. Alternative: from there you can keep climbing to the top of the mountain, it is around 30min more minutes up.
After lunch, it was time to go down to the car. We went down using the the slopes from the skiing area and the trails next to the slopes.
The car was parked next to the castle, very expensive (8€ /day). Next time we should park next to the ski area. There are free spots or at least cheaper parking areas.
