Itinerary description

This trail is similar to the trail via Curug Ciputri Campsite. Since the ‘real’ trail to Curug Ciampea is not via Curug Ciputri Campsite, we decided to try the real trail which is managed by the local residents not companies. Blessed by a wonderful weather, we revisited Curug Ciampea and Curug Kiara.

Waypoints

Entrance gate of Curug Ciampea’s area

Not far from the trailhead is the entrance gate to the Curug Ciampea area. If you come on your own you will have to pay for local retribution at the start of the trailhead. However, if you hire local guide usually they will handle everything for you and you will only need to pay them at the end of your trek/hike.

Midway towards Curug Ciampea

This is a resting place midway between the campsite and Curug Ciampea.

Stalls before the Curug

Before seeing the curug Ciampea you will find rows of stalls in forms of huts. They are basically selling similar if not the same things: Instant noodles, instant coffee, fritters. Do not worry, you will also find some down at the waterfall.

Curug Ciampea

Curug is the local for waterfall and curug Ciampea is one of the biggest in the area. It is the main attraction of the trail as compared to the other smaller falls and as such could be very crowded almost all the time. Very close by is also a pool going down few meters walk from the fall.
